If you were going to be trapped on an island for the rest of your life with the choice of 5 albums (not mixtapes or EPs) to keep you company, what would they be?

Remember, this is not the GOAT of albums.. just what you enjoy the most and indefinitely would not get fed up of from constant replaying.

In order:

Sonically it's Em's best work from start to finish, been bumping it since it came out, and since Em's one of my favorites I doubt I would grow tired of it. Honestly, I don't know what to say about this album that hasn't already been said.

2) Posted Image

My favorite Outkast album, pieced together perfectly. I remember when someone on here compared Big Boi to Pippen and Dre to Jordan. But yo, on this album they're both Jordan. Big Boi matches Andre perfectly. They're two sides of the same coin (more so on this album). I can't ever see myself getting tired of those flows on those beats.

3) Posted Image

I grew up on this album, so I everytime I throw it on it takes me back to those times. I'm sure you all have albums to similar to what I'm describing, it's spot is automatic on this list for me.

4) Posted Image

I think this is Pac's best work, he was always able to convey his emotions through songs but definitely more on this album. Every track sounds like it came from the depths of his soul. This album would probably keep me going on that island lol

5) Posted Image

Around the time Lupe started blowin up on Touch The Sky I was instantly a fan, and then Kick Push dropped with this album and then I played this album religiously for a while. Shit is Lupe at his best, The Cool was good but nothing he'll ever put out will live up to this. Timeless beats/lyrics.

Honorable mentions:

I had the hardest time deciding between TES and this, but in the end I'd get fed up of the repetitive subject matter on MMLP if I was stuck on an island after like..a month lol. There's way more growth on TES.

Posted Image

There was a time when I thought I'd never get tired of this album but these days I just can't put myself through the entire album. It was a great album but fell off in certain parts with the mood it was trying to achieve.

I was actually debating between this and Food and Liquor for the #5 spot, but Prodigy's lyrics would bore me after a while. It almost made the spot off the strength off Survival of the Fittest and Shook Ones pt. 2 but two tracks alone don't cement it's position lol

Is this the same island Pac is living on? I'll need to know this so I know which albums I don't have to take with me.

Most versatile yet cohesive album ever, 2 discs of pure hiphop. DJ U-Neek at his best, slightly switching up beats per member in alot of songs, truly the greatest album ever made imo.

2.

Good from front to back, music your mind drifts away on. Let's put that endless replayability to the test on that island.

3.

Can't only have hiphop on there, this album makes me happy every time i hear it. Good mood music that makes you wanna dance. Great (and very underrated) album.

4.

Great compilation of one of the greatest groups ever, enough said.

Without a doubt, my favorite hip hop album of all time. There's a reason I can say without a moments hesitation Cage is my favorite rapper ever... Everything about this album clicks for me, from Cage's voice, his delivery, his amazingly dark imagery and his work with concepts in some of his songs. For me, this is the perfect album.

One of those albums you can sit back, close your eyes to and just let the music draw you in. Amazingly production, complimented by some of the best lyricism out there, what's not to love?

3.

I was actually originally thinking Labor Days by Aesop, and while I love both albums, for me None Shall Pass is the overall better album, even if Labor Days has my all time favorite Aesop track.

4.

What can I say about this album? RZA production and GZA at his best in every aspect. Fuckin' great album.

El-P holds down his spot as my favorite producer, so one of his albums is a must. I'll Sleep When You're Dead just has some production that's on another level to me, coupled with some of El-P's best verses... Yup.

Honorable Mentions

As much as I love Porn Again, I didn't want to overload on Cage, plus Cage basically carries this album. Mr. Eon is alright, but really outshined here. Still love Porn Again to death though.

Gotta love Illmatic, the only albums up there that are touching it on a technical standpoint are Liquid Swords and maybe Illadelph Halflife, in some respects. Love Illmatic to death, but as far as replayability to me, albums with a more... Experimental sound... Usually keep my interest longer.

lol I was thinking about Illmatic as well but there's not enough tracks on it and the replayability would run out fast

By The Throat is undisputedly one of my favourite and most played albums.

Posted Image

The Eminem Show, a lot like By The Throat is one of my favourites. It's arguably Em's best work. I think it gives you the best combination of themes, moods and content of all his albums. Plus its largely self produced and represents probably the artistic high of his career.

Posted Image

Shad's poetics are so dope. "At The Same Time" Is one of my all time favourite tracks. The lyrics are so dope.

Posted Image

You Saw My Blinker Bitch... Nuff Said.

Posted Image

I wasn't really sure what should be the last album on my list. But I always remember bumpin this album when I was younger.

Honourable Mention:

The Marshall Mathers LP (It was tough choosing between MMLP and TES)
How I Got Over
I'll Sleep When You're Dead (One of my favourite albums.)
KRIT Wuz Here (Hometown Hero definitely the standout for me is so dope.)
Be
Ready To Die
It's Dark And Hell Is Hot
Stillmatic (Was tough choosing between this and The Blueprint)

Doesn't have to be hip-hop albums right?

1. Below the Heavens - Blu & Exile
2. Us - Brother Ali
3. Frank - Amy Winehouse
4. Kollage - Bahamadia
5. The Listening - Little Brother

Not the greatest list, it was just whatever popped into my head right now.
